LEGAL ASSISTANT
Legal assistants are able to do much of the work involved in closings, hearings, trials, and corporate meetings. Legal assistants may investigate all facets of a case, conduct legal research to find appropriate legal material for a case, organize and analyze the information they have acquired, and prepare written reports that attorneys will use in deciding how to handle a case. If a lawsuit is filed, attorneys depend on legal assistants to help with preparing and organizing legal documents and preparing for court. Some legal assistants coordinate or manage the activities of the law office.
